全国政协委员、新期望集团董事长刘永好表示，他今年带来了8个与农业有关的提案，8个提案中，他重点介绍了一种可以在中国广大农村实行的新的金融模式。刘永好觉得，目前有近两千多万的农民工回乡，期望能为他们找到更好的出路。

农民企业家、新期望集团开创者及董事长刘永好引用近2千万的失业农民工总数说：他们不仅仅是2千万个个人，他们可能代表着1500万个家庭。
这里的Farmer-turned-entrepreneur从字面上看就是农民变身的企业家，指的是那些出身农民，经过我们的努力奋斗最后成为自营企业掌门的企业家，即农民企业家。通常来讲，农民企业家都是民营企业家（private entrepreneur）。
Entrepreneur这个词其实是法语词，指企业家，主办人，承包人等，entrepreneur spirit 则表示事业心之意，如：A person with entrepreneurship is often filled with entrepreneur spirit..（企业家一般都非常有事业心）。
