Helen:In Real English, we look at words and phrases that you might not find in your dictionary.

Helen: Todays word is gangsta rap.

Chen Li:我想大家最好还是将这个词分开来讲吧，你刚刚说gangster，意思是强盗，匪徒，英文的拼写是 G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R。

Helen:And today we are going to talk about gangster^{1 rap but you will often see gangster spelt g.a.n.g.s.t.a. Theres a slight difference.}

Chen Li:大部分人都了解 rap music，也就是说唱乐，但什么是gangsta rap？从字面意义上如何来讲解呢？

Helen:So gangsta rap sounds like typical rap or hip^{2 hop3 music?}

Chen Li:听起来就像典型的说唱乐，或者是 hip hop 音乐。

Helen:But the TOPic of the song will focus on the lifestyles of criminals or gangsters^4.

Chen Li:不少有名的美国说唱乐歌手都来自犯罪频繁的区域，他们的歌词也大都反映歹徒们的生活方法。
