I prefer travelling by train rather than travelling by plane, for trains are cheaper, safer and more comfortable.

请问这句话到底哪一个划线部分有错误？ 是rather than吗？（但rather than后面可以跟Ving 吧？）

我觉得这个句子没错，而是命题本身有问题。所以，本题没办法找出错误的选项。

prefer 的基本意思是“较喜欢, 更喜欢”,多指在两个或两个以上的选项中，优先选择其中的一项，多用于“prefer...to...”或“prefer...rather than”结构，等于like better 或place before the others,因此不可以用more或most来修饰它。引申可表示为“宁愿”、“宁可”等。

rather than 用在本句完全可以，表示“取舍关系”。不要一直觉得：prefer 必须要跟to 连用，表示“比较”，不跟to 连用也非常正常。比如：

2. Would you prefer milk or coffee? 你喜欢牛奶还是咖啡?
